Varalakshmi College of Nursing was established in the year 2004 and is one of the most comprehensive nursing college and is one of the best college in Karnataka. The college has a reputation for excellent academic performance, Clinical knowledge, and leadership ability of students.

Course Curriculum
This Programme of study leads to a 4 years degree course offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Students are providing with theoretical instruction integrated with clinical experience as per the INC requirements. They are also provided with the advanced clinical experiences in all clinical areas to enable the students to take up the first level position in Nursing, which will move rapidly into leadership and Supervisory position in various areas of Nursing education and practice.

Eligibility for Admission
A candidate seeking admission should have:

• Passes the two year PUC or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with science subjects, Viz, Physics Chemistry Biology and English.
• Obtained at least 45% of the total marks in science subjects (Physics Chemistry Biology and English) of the qualifying examination. If belonging to scheduled or a scheduled tribe, should have obtained not less than 40% of the total marks in science subjects (Physics Chemistry Biology and English) of the qualifying examination.
• The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st day of December of the year of admission.
